Students in a junior seminar class in the Frederik Meijer Honors College will host a live stream of the TEDWomen 2013 event from San Francisco on December 5.

The TEDxGrandRapidsWomen event is independently organized and licensed, and will take place in the Mary Idema Pew Library on the Allendale Campus. There will be three sessions, 1-3:30 p.m., 5-6:30 p.m., and 7-8:30 p.m. Between sessions there will be performances from local artists, along with food and building tours.

Along with the live broadcast of the TEDWomen speakers from the San Francisco event, there will be local speakers presenting their thoughts on the theme “Invented Here.”

“The goal of our event is to continue conversations about world-changing ideas here in the Grand Rapids area,” said Bill Holsinger-Robinson, Meijer Endowed Honors Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. “It’s about taking time to celebrate invention and explore the power everyone has to change the world.”

Registration is requested due to limited seating, but walk-ins will be welcome if space allows. Registration is available online at http://gvsu.edu/s/wE.
