Council of Writing Program Administrators
Grand Valley is the institutional home of the CWPA! This is the professional organization for directors of first-year writing programs, WAC/WID programs (such as our SWS program), junior-level writing programs, writing centers, and writing majors. Of particular interest are the WPA Outcomes Statement for First-Year Composition, on which Grand Valley's WRT 150 outcomes are based.

The organization's website includes the very useful WAC Clearinghouse--resources related to the teaching of writing in any discipline, as well as a collection of research reports and articles.

International Writing Centers Association

This is the professional organization for writing center directors.

Michigan Writing Centers Association

This state-wide organization supports the work of writing center directors and tutors. Representatives from our staff attend the MWCA's Idea Exchange conference each year to make presentations and facilitate workshops and roundtable discussions
