The Educational Support Program
I graduated from Central Michigan University with my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in management with a minor in psychology. My career has taken me down many different paths; human resources in logistics, healthcare, and manufacturing, restaurant ownership, and fundraising in higher education. Before joining the staff in The Educational Supports Program (ESP), I worked as a graduate assistantship in Transfer Advising and the CSAL graduate program here at GVSU while obtaining my Masters in Adult and Higher Education. I also work as an adjunct instructor for the Allied Sciences department teaching Healthcare Management 340 (HPR 340).
I married my husband, Rob (’04, MBA) in 1992, and we have three wonderful kids. He is an Executive Director of Innovation for ADAC Automotive. We like to bike, participate in school activities, do DIY projects, and spend time at our cottage on Lake Huron.
All these rewarding experiences, both professional and personal, help me every day in my role here with ESP and GVSU. One of my favorite quotes (by Margaret Fuller) says a lot about my philosophy of life and working with students, “If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it.” I feel very fortunate to work for an organization and with people who share these same philosophies and encourage me to keep my candle lit!
