The certificate consists of 12 credit hours by completing four graduate level courses:

The badge is not a degree or certificate; however, if you choose to continue, completion of this badge and the other three taxation specialization badges will create stackable credentials towards earning a master's degree in taxation.

Students may dual-count up to 12 credits of courses toward the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Master of Public Health degrees at the undergraduate tuition rate during senior year. Students are strongly encouraged to work with their faculty advisor to ensure all undergraduate and graduate requirements are met. Students will choose one of two available emphasis options - health promotion or epidemiology - to complete their public health graduate curriculum.

Graduate teacher certification in elementary education is an accelerated one-year program that includes 11 courses and 36 credits taken over three semesters. Topics include evidence-based practice for teaching literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies as well as facilitation of positive classroom environments, culturally responsive pedagogy, and foundations of special education. Courses are paired with robust clinical field experiences.

Completion of an additional 15 credits will fulfill the requirements for a Master in Education, Instruction and Curriculum - Elementary Education.

An application for the GTC program, available from the College of Education and Community Innovation, is due by November 1.

An additional application for admission to the College of Education and Community Innovation must be submitted by January 15. The $30 nonrefundable application fee is waived if the applicant has previously applied to GVSU.

Students must earn 21 credits to complete the minor. Focused on theory and practice, the Digital Studies curriculum helps students gain experience using digital tools and develop a complex understanding of digital cultures. The curriculum covers topics such as:

Students pursuing this degree will need to transfer in an associate degree in respiratory care from a CoARC accredited institution, and can transfer up to 80 credits of coursework. In addition, you will need to complete 40 credits of GVSU respiratory care coursework.
