Professional Development Minutes May 8, 2013

Several committee members terms are completed and there will be new upcoming elections for Groups 1, 3, 4, and 5. Please visit www.gvsu.edu/ap to vote for your new group members in May.
The annual AP Retreat has been scheduled for Thursday, June 20th to welcome and transition newly elected AP committee members.
The AP Professional Development Subcommittee met on May 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. on the Allendale campus. Chair, Laura Kennert welcomed members and opened the meeting. Members in attendance included:

The Excellence Series April session discussed was;
Problem Solving and Decision Making by Renwick Brutus, Founder and CEO of Achievement Resources, LLC. This workshop was very well received by participants. People commented that they thought the presenter was very engaging and had great examples to share. They enjoyed his wealth of expertise and thought-provoking ideas.
New requests for future professional development sessions are: Intergenerational Communication, Coping with Stress, How to Establish a Career Path Leadership sessions for faculty, administrators, women, etc.
