Description
For Brooks College Faculty
Prompted by conversations with a number of faculty, program coordinators, and directors, we have organized a workshop focused on “Big Picture Curriculum Planning.” The workshop is designed to support conversations among faculty and programs with the goals of:
- Providing an overview of key questions, considerations, and practices that frame curriculum at GVSU
- Supporting faculty to better understand curriculum context and resource mapping within and across the program(s) in which they teach
- Making space for creativity and collaboration within and across programs
- Identifying curricular synergies to support student access to programs and faculty workload
Over the course of three sessions (scheduled at 9-10:30AM on Monday, February 26, March 11, and March 25), participants will participate in a variety of hands-on activities designed to support anyone interested in exploring potential curriculum revisions or proposing new programs/courses.
Sessions will be co-facilitated by: Barb Hoogenboom (Chair, University Curriculum Committee), Christine Rener (Director, FTLC and Vice Provost for Instructional Development and Innovation), Erica Hamilton (Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs), and Melanie Shell-Weiss (Associate Dean, Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies).
