Office of Fellowships to host workshops on scholarships, Fulbright awards

March 21, 2013

The Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships is hosting several workshops for students to learn about nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships, including the prestigious U.S. Fulbright Program.

‘Fellowships 101’ will be held on March 21 and April 4, both at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room of Neimeyer Hall, and will serve as an opportunity for students to learn about nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships, what it takes to apply for them, and how the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships assists students along the way.

The U.S. Student Fulbright Program information session will be held on March 28 at 6 p.m. in Niemeyer Hall room 148. Students interested in pursuing research/study or serving as an English Teaching Assistant in another country following graduation are strongly encouraged to attend. Office of Fellowships staff will discuss the purpose of the Fulbright scholarship and the application process. The application for academic year 14-15 will open May 1 and the campus deadline is Friday, September 28. Students who plan to apply should contact the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships and plan to develop their applications over the summer.

Students who need to work on a personal statement for national award applications can get help at a writing workshop on April 5, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Niemeyer Hall room 114.
