ENG 664 - Sociolinguistics and Language Teaching
The study of sociolinguistic theories investigating the interaction of language and society in the classroom, grades K-12. An examination of the social and cultural aspects of language, language use, and teaching. Particular emphasis on English as a second language, bilingual and multilingual educational situations, and cultural influences on learning, communications, and ideology. Required of those seeking Michigan ESL endorsement. Offered winter semester. Prerequisites: Completion of ENG 660 or equivalent.
