PHI 313 - Early Modern Great Philosophers

A study of one or several modern great philosophers, up to Kant, such as Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Locke, Berkeley, Hume, Kant. Focus will be on the philosophers' writings, but attention also will be given to context and tradition. May be repeated for credit if content varies. Prerequisite: Prior work in philosophy or permission of instructor.
