GEO 470 - Geophysics

Concepts of earth physics are introduced. The principles of physics are applied to explore the subsurface. Modern geophysical methods, including gravity, magnetism, seismics, magnetotelluries, radar, electrical, well-logging, and remote sensing are discussed in lecture and applied in laboratory experiments and field measurements. (3-0-3) Offered winter semester of even-numbered years. Prerequisites: GEO 212; MTH 201 or permission of instructor; PHY 220 or PHY 230 recommended.
