The English minor is designed for the student who desires a general study of English through literature, linguistics, and writing. It is also designed for those seeking minor certification in English.
Requirements for a Minor in English (21 credits)
Required courses (9 credits):
- ENG 215 - Foundations of Literary Study: Genre (3 credits)
- ENG 216 - Foundations of Literary Study: Critical Approaches (3 credits)
- ENG 261 - Foundations of Language Study (3 credits)
Electives (12 credits):
- Four English courses, three of which must be at the 300-level or above.

Required courses (15 credits):
- ENG 215 - Foundations of Literary Study: Genre (3 credits)
- ENG 216 - Foundations of Literary Study: Critical Approaches (3 credits)

- ENG 310 - Teaching Writing: Secondary (3 credits)
