PHI 314 - Capitalism, Secularism, Nationalism: 19th Century Philosophy

A study of one or several later modern great philosophers beginning with Kant, such as Fichte, Schelling, Hegel, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, and Marx. Focus will be on the philosopher's writings, but attention will also be given to context and tradition. Course may be repeated if content differs. Prerequisite: Prior work in philosophy or permission of instructor.
