Center for Educational Partnerships (CEP)
The CEP connects the College of Education and Community Innovation (CECI) with West Michigan through a series of programs and initiatives. This work furthers the mission of the college and GVSU by bringing together expertise, interest, and resources.
Since 2009 the Groundswell Stewardship Initiative has connected local educators with experts in place-based education to help over 30,000 K-12 students make change within their communities. More information available at gvsu.edu/groundswell.
The CEP is leading a partnership between the National Educational Telecommunications Association and GVSU. The goal of the work is to create pathways for public media employees to progress in their careers and then development programs at GVSU to support their educational journey.
The Teachers of Color Network seeks to create a more diverse teaching profession. The program assists in recruiting and retaining diverse students to GVSU.
Led by the center, recently a group of faculty and staff have formed to explore experiential learning pedagogy and create programs and classes based on it within the college. The group has looked initially at supporting at-risk students with additional support, grounded in the pedagogy.
