July 2024 Board of Trustees Update

On July 12, 2024, the GVSU Board of Trustees acted on only one item related to GVSU-authorized charter public schools.
During the meeting, the Board approved the appointments and reappointments of 43 total charter school board members. The GVSU Charter Schools Office is thankful for the 34 board members who renewed their service to their community school, and is excited to welcome the following 9 individuals as new board members for GVSU-authorized charter schools:
- Derschaun Brown -- Covenant Schools Detroit
- Katharine McEvoy -- Covenant Schools Detroit
- Jason Luke -- Kalamazoo Covenant Academy
- Marcus Kole -- Kalamazoo Covenant Academy
- Sara Amy -- Kalamazoo Covenant Academy
- Amy MacFarlane -- Oakland Academy
- Tamiko Logan -- Reach Charter Academy
- Joseph McCarthy -- The Greenspire School
- Kristopher Jones -- West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics
