April 2024 Board of Trustees Update

On April 26, 2024, the GVSU Board of Trustees acted on only one item related to GVSU-authorized charter public schools.
During the meeting, the Board approved the appointments and reappointments of 67 total charter school board members. The GVSU Charter Schools Office is thankful for the 58 board members who renewed their service to their community school, and is excited to welcome the following 9 individuals as new board members for GVSU-authorized charter schools:

- Evangeline Burden -- Martin Luther King Jr. Education Center Academy
- Alexis Dishman -- New Paradigm College Prep
- Lydia Oberlin -- Oakland Academy
- Todd Sanders -- Old Mission Peninsula School
- Stephanie Briggs -- Timberland Charter Academy
- Tyisha Davis-Williams -- Timberland Charter Academy
- Wyneice Penney-Hairston -- Timberland Charter Academy
- David Shaffer -- Walker Charter Academy
