From Dana:

I have been involved in education for over 18 years.  I had the amazing opportunity to serve as a third and fourth grade teacher for 14 years, an Academic Specialist/Instructional Coach for two years, and a Dean of K-2nd grade for two years.  All of these fun experiences took place at Vanderbilt Charter Academy in Holland, MI.  Presently, I am mentoring an ECT in Battle Creek and also instruct and mentor teachers in Muskegon Heights (SEED Program).  I am currently consulting at my former school in Holland in preparation of the M-STEP, coordinating data analysis and best practices for teachers and students.

Fun Facts:  I have been married over 20 years to my college-sweetheart.  I also have three wonderful and energetic daughters.  I have wanted to be a teacher since I have been five years old; it was my dream and never once did I deviate from it.  My favorite aspects of teaching include being as creative as possible with student engagement, building trusting relationships with students and their families, and empowering the younger students to set personalized goals and high expectations for themselves as I cheer them along!
