Literacy, Educational Foundations, and Technology Department

The Literacy, Educational Foundations, and Technology Department provides courses and programs in three main areas:

  • reading/language arts, including teaching English to speakers of other languages
  • educational foundations
  • and learning, design, and technology/information literacy.

Courses are woven into the undergraduate and graduate Education programs, and provide students with:

  • fundamental knowledge to effectively use reading and technology skills in the classroom
  • understanding of Education's social, historical, philosophical, cultural, economic, and political contexts.

At the graduate level, Literacy Studies and Learning, Design, and Technology provide online Master's programs. We also provide graduate certificate programs in Online/Blended Instruction or English as a Second Language (ESOL) with optional ESL endorsement.
