Project Abstract
The objective of this project is to design and build laboratory test equipment that will be used to measure the required door handle pull force and travel of handle output cable or latch rod. The designed tester must be able to accommodate the desired Magna door handles as well as desired benchmarking handles. Furthermore, the tester needs to be able to accommodate five degrees of freedom to be able to account for all handle types and sizes. The tester must be able to apply a
minimum load of 100N to the handle core and be able to measure a minimum of 30 mm of output travel. The door handle tester must be able to record both the handle pull effort and output travel then output this to the user graphically.
Forward. For all.
