This Grand Valley organization aims to provide students with access to opportunities to engage in a community of peers, professionals, and practicing geologists by providing: 1) free access to monthly newsletters and journals from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists that cover current and relevant work taking place in the oil and gas industry, 2) interactions with working professionals through sponsored visiting speaker programs, and 3) a view into the working world of petroleum geology through field trips, regular business meeting, conferences etc. We also get our GVSU student members out into the field to tour oil fields, drill core labs, and to professional conferences. This club is interested in educating students on professional career paths in petroleum geology, however, anyone interested is welcome to join us! Although this sounds like all business, we do like to have fun and we intend to make all of our events fun as well as professional!
