In conjunction with the American Public Health Association through the Student Champions for Climate Justice Award, this panel discussion, which counts for INT100/201 credit and IPE certificate credit, will address the disparities found in the disabled community in regards to natural disasters.
A variety of professionals and students will discuss options for improvement of response efforts during natural disasters and how their field can address the disparities that individuals with disabilities face during these especially treacherous times. Finally, it will be discussed how emergency plans can be created and implemented across multiple sectors of the health professions.
