Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Testing and quality control of device firmware, including the writing and development of automated firmware tests.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Working at X-Rite helped me develop an increased knowledge of the history of color science, an understanding of the importance of speed-to-market of quality products and client support, increased programming development skills, especially in C++/Qt, the use of Microsoft Excel macros for data cleaning, storage and analysis, and reporting "bugs" using Atlassian Jira software.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I especially enjoyed learning how develop automated firmware tests and being part of a development team.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Working at X-Rite has given me valuable experience working on real-world products and increased my desire to learn more about software/firmware development.
