Description of the Organization
Best Metal Products is a company that produces custom OEM hydraulic cylinders. They are mainly a production shop with a smaller staff. The have their own IT department, ranging from their own servers to an in house phone system.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Created several different webpages that worked with PHP, html, MySQL and Microsoft Sequel. Also maintaining all the electrical devices in the office and shop ranging from computers to printers. Another project was researching and getting quotes on a new phone VOIP phone system.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained a better overall knowledge of web programming, involving PHP and html. Also I gained a better understanding on servers and administration within a company. Another skill I gained would be my overall knowledge and ability to work with databases.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Having the ability to design webpages to what I thought was fit, even though I had a few core requirements I needed to follow. Also being able to apply what I learned in the past.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I have learned what I am specifically looking for in a future career. This internship has provided me with a good overall idea on what I want to do with my future.
