Description of the Organization
I work for Flex-N-Gate, a tier one automotive supplier. We are a fairly large (10,000+ employees) sole proprietorship owned by Shad Khan. I work in the automotive lighting division making exterior light systems. At the plant I'm currently in, we make break lights, signal lights, and many other small lights as well.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I assisted in the plant electronics lab, doing what ever needed to be done at the given moment. I repaired and built mobile product test unit for our production floor and customers (shown in the experience submission picture). I performed ESD testing to help design a board layout change. I developed test masters for the end of the line test stations. I also conducted failure analysis of warranty returned parts as well as managed some maintenance improvements in the lab itself.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Trouble shooting and determine the root failure mode. Also improved general knowledge of the manufacturing and assembly process that takes place in our plant
Favorite Part of the Experience
Being able to contribute in a direct way and seeing my efforts progress or develop a problem solution, product design, etc.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It's give me an appreciation for the production environment and what it takes to produce quality parts
