Description of the Organization
Trane Technologies is a national HVAC company that develops new technology in the field, engineers and installs automated control systems into buildings, and services and upkeeps their products for their customers.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I was in charge of keeping building graphics updated for the control projects, and creating or ordering new ones when they were needed. I also worked on a few projects to develop controls for buildings, and helped out the other engineers with drawings for their projects. Finally, I was in charge of handing the parts that came in for all of our projects and makings sure they were documented and stored correctly.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I worked a lot with AutoCAD to do engineering drawings, so I gained lots of experience with that program. I also did lots of professional communication with different people from different departments, projects, and companies, including emails and calls. I feel that learning to communicate and get the information that is needed to continue a project is a good skill to have.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I learned a lot about the different parts of a company work together, and I find it interesting to see how and engineering company works together to get projects done. My co-workers were also very helpful and would always be able to answer questions that I had.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It has made me look more into the business side of engineering and how my skills could apply there instead of the purely technical side.
