Description of the Organization
Altus is a relative small (in size) company that provides medical workstation solutions. While we are small in size, we have made quite an impact in the hospital setting. Our product can be found all throughout the country, especially in Michigan.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
As a third semester intern, I was given a fair amount of design work and assignments this semester. I was given a lot of responsible and hoping that it has lead my to a career with the company still.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I have completed design projects here, giving me a taste of creating my own solution to a problem. This gives me a lot of experience using the CAD software of SolidWorks, and the testing required on first parts of a design.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of the experience was all that I got to do in SolidWorks, and the atmosphere at the company. I knew everyone there and it was nice to be to have that kind of experience early on.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I feel it has in a way. I definitely want to be in an industry in which I am completing design work. I feel that I have gotten experience in it and I enjoy it.
