Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
This semester I spent some time doing electrical design and programming on machines, as well as some wiring and machine commissioning. I also accompanied our engineers and builders to a customer site in town on one occasion.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned more about PLC and HMI programming, as well as machine debugging. I spent a large amount of time debugging machines. I also was able to interact directly with the customer, allowing me to better understand and deliver what they need.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I was shown and involved in almost every aspect of machine design either directly or indirectly, which helped to build an understanding of the process and management that goes into each machine. I also enjoyed learning to program PLCs and programming the machines.

I highly enjoy working in the field of industrial automation and will be continuing in controls engineering after college.
