UFPI is a company primarily focused on lumber and lumber distribution, as well as other products like construction and packaging solutions. They are the primary lumber distributer for places like lows and home depot.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
My task for this summer was to create maintenance tables that the plants would use, from shipment tables and mileage rates, to tax rates and margins.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
greater knowledge of C# and Progress(a database language similar to SQL) Dealing with large scale projects. working in larger teams. working with testers. improved version control.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this internship was the fact that I was given not only real work, but important work. I feel great pride in knowing that the work I did is in production.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It has showed me what a good company is.
