Flextronics is an international, multimillion dollar supply chain company. We serve the automotive, medical, aerospace, governmental, and many other high production industries.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
The project that I was assigned as part of my co-op experience at Flextronics was to improve the gauge management of plant I was stationed at. This included figuring out the standard procedure for introducing new gauges into the plant, writing verification and calibration procedures for the gauges, and evaluating the possibility of integrating new technologies to improve the efficiency of gauge management.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained a lot of project management skills throughout my co-op experience at Flextronics. Because my co-op session only lasted three months, I had to figure out what tasks I wanted to tackle and how much time I wanted to allocated towards those tasks. Additionally, my problem solving skills were enhanced throughout my co-op experience.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of my co-op experience was having the opportunity to take on a major project and building it from the ground up. I know that the work I have done on this project will benefit my company after I am done with my co-op experience.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has given me the confidence to take on major projects wholeheartedly. The skills I have learned during this co-op experience has set me up for a future career in engineering management.
