Description of the Organization
Nissan's is involved in the manufacturing, sales and related business of automotive products. It is a rather large Japanese company with a 131,461 total employees.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
During my term I validated electric car chargers for current production vehicles, and performed a benchmark analysis of many competitors vehicles and their high voltage battery systems. I also synthesized weekly reports and presentation material. Data analysis was a huge portion of my job, so I often used MATLAB and excel.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
- I gained experienced making electrical harnesses for vehicles. - I learned more about high voltage circuits. - I learned two coding languages through company training ( python & C++) - My soldering skills improved significantly.
Favorite Part of the Experience
It was nice being able to drive electric vehicles all summer after never having that experience before. I also loved the work place environment and the diversity. I was able to develop professionally with a lot of guidance.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has made me want to maybe explore smaller companies who are more agile in the way they make decisions and handle business.
