Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked on several projects that target creating manufacturing department more efficient. For one project I tested cycle times on a boring machine on our manufacturing line, and then presented results to the machine's manufacturer based in Italy.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned many different technical skills such as new CAD software, along with lots of social skills and how a large company like Herman Miller functions.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Getting to know everyone in the company was very special. Everyone wants to see you succeed and treats you like an employee rather than a young intern.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has shown me what direction I would like to go down in my career after school, and I hope that I can be around a group of people as special as the ones I met this summer.
