Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
During my time as an intern, the main programs that I worked with were youth and adult basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and softball. I also had the opportunity to work a couple of non-sport activities such as the daddy daughter dance and mother son date. I was responsible for finding contacts to send out marketing promotions to in order to increase program participation. I was also a site supervisor for the basketball programs to ensure everything was running smoothly. Lastly, I gained experience in selling sponsorship.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained a lot of interpersonal skills throughout this experience because of how much communication is involved in running these programs! I also gained time management skills as there were certain deadlines to make with some projects.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this internship was being a site supervisor for the adult basketball league. I was able to build relationships with the participants and officials which made it very enjoyable.

This internship has influenced my career goals because it gave me firsthand experience within a recreation department which is something I had not always considered for my career. I really enjoyed how much creativity is involved in this field and how much opportunity there is for individuals of all ages and skill levels.
