Description of the Organization
TowerPinkster is an architectural and engineering firm which has over 80 employees and several offices in west Michigan. They are famous for the quality of their work and company culture; which puts their employees and communities first.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I designed the mechanical systems for buildings ranging in multiple market sectors (including healthcare, commercial, governmental, K-12, and higher education). This included designing HVAC and plumbing systems, 3D building modeling in the AutoDesk Revit software, and producing building documents for use in construction.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned a great deal about thermo and fluid system design and the architectural field in general. I became even more proficient with the software used in our industry and began to outline design processes for my personal use. This practice will assist me in learning new skills faster and more effectively.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The culture of this company is truly its strongest attribute. People want to work at TowerPinkster because they provide an atmosphere for trust and growth in ways that other companies do not. Being able to see the company operate as successfully as it does, and to witness the reasons for that success is immensely valuable. No matter where my future career path may lead.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
While I originally entered engineering because of an interest in architecture, working at TowerPinkster has certainly solidified my interest in the industry.
