Paulstra is an automotive part supplier that makes rubber fused parts such as engine mounts, transmission mounts, bushings and torque struts.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I was tasked with assisting engineers in the GM group with specific studies, testing and designing of program parts.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained the knowledge of how design and testing occurs in a professional setting and how important communication is for engineers.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I had the opportunity to design and test my own iteration of a part component. It may be implemented into their new production. Also my suggestions for changes were listened to and taken into consideration and sometimes activated.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
The co-op experience solidified my desire to be in the engineering field, working in teams and having a support system really helps everyone achieve their goals.
