Description of the Organization
Viant Medical is a contract medical device manufacturer based in Grand Rapids Michigan. the facility I work at is the newer of the two Grand Rapids location facilities. There are five clean rooms with 5 assembly lines currently in production.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked as part of the engineering sustaining team. I worked with an engineer to maintain three manufacturing lines and assist in moving out one of those lines at the end of march. I wrote and worked on a wide variety of documentation for each line as well as performing hands-on maintenance for the lines.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned how to think critically and how to properly document everything required for manufacturing parts in the medical field.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part was the people and working with others to solve the problems we faced.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Career goals have not changed, I would still like to work as part of the engineering medical field.
