Description of the Organization
Koops is a company that builds and designs factory automation solutions. There are about 120 employees. These employees are broken up into: business development, human resources, purchasing, project management, mechanical engineering, controls engineering, launch engineering, machine detail, and machine assembly.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
As a launch engineer it was my job to get the machines running from when they were assembled to when they leave to the customer. This involved mechanical, programming, and electrical debug.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I got a lot of hands on machine building experience for my co-op as well as experience working in an engineering environment.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of my co-op was getting to learn about machine building with great people.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Working at Koops has given me a lot of insight into machine building and the automotive industry. I could see myself searching for a job in machine building after I graduate.
