Description of the Organization
I worked at Herman Miller this past semester. Herman Miller is a great company, and I really enjoyed working as an advanced manufacturing engineer. They are a major producer of office furniture, and I worked with the production process.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I created work instructions, performed team member training, data analysis, and product development. I worked extensively with a team to develop a product rationalization process - meaning, how to wisely determine which products to discontinue producing.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
A lot in communication, as well as large product management.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The intern program in general was fantastic. Really enjoyed the intern program!
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It has helped shape my understand of advanced manufacturing engineers.
