Description of the Organization
Muskegon lumberjacks have a well-organized group that ensures the fan experience is at the top tier. The group is around 6-9 people on game nights and around 4 in the office during the week. They have a family-type group and are all very close together.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I had to organize Chuck a puck for the weekend games for my internship. Complete game day scripts and take pictures for sponsor thank you notes. Put game day revenues into Excel, and send invoices to season ticket holders. I also did any other task that was given to me.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Communication skills, decision-making skills, and face-to-face interactions with fans.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Seeing the events unfold on game days in front of 1000 fans. It was nice to see everything work out according to plan and please and see happy fans every weekend.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It influenced me to stick with the game day presentation and game day operations, as seeing the fans happy is what I want to do. For which sport I want to pick, I feel hockey, or baseball will be my best option in the future.
