ODL is a well established window and door manufacturing company.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
The project that took up most of my time throughout the semester was a competitive review project. The purpose was to take competitors products, test the units, tear them down to see what was inside, and report on the findings and results. I also was involved in a little bit of product enhancement projects as well as various testing that needed to be done.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
The key things that I learned were the process of implementing different equipment or processes and the importance of reports and paperwork.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I enjoyed being able to do a lot of hands on work and learn about a new field of work.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It really has just shown me more of what the engineering work world has to offer as far a options for a career.
