Description of the Organization
Sports Information here at GVSU is in charge of serving as the primary media contact for multiple programs; producing media guides, game notes, news releases and feature stories; generating feature content, video and other unique coverage for gvsulakers.com, the official website of Lakers Athletics; responding to media requests; staffing home and selected away events; supervising statistical crews and other event support personnel; facilitating GVSU's social media outlets; compiling statistics, researching historical records for GVSU department of athletics publications and assisting the Sports Information staff with additional duties.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I was in charge of making videos for athletic teams here at GVSU. I made three videos for the football program, and one video for all athletic teams.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gain a lot of knowledge about using the software it took to make the videos I made.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The best part of this experience was the amount of freedom I had a some big projects. I got to use my ideas and apply them to the assigned video projects.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
It has excited me for the future. Working in the environment I did reassured me that that is workplace I want to see myself in some day.
