Description of the Organization
L3Harris is a large innovator in many sectors from air to space. A large portion of L3Harris is in the defense sector as well as the aerospace, communication, aviation, nautical and cyber domains. L3Harris has over 40,000 employees and works internationally all over the world.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Some key items I worked on this semester included: adding additional capability to testing equipment, developing cables, developing test station code, managing test equipment, ordering equipment, documentation and sustaining duties.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained various skills on this rotation. The most important one being the ability to be self sufficient and more independent than last semester. There were numerous times in the past I would need help finding things or had trouble understanding how something worked. This semester I was able to understand the problems and gain confidence in my explanations.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I really enjoyed becoming a part of the team. This semester I was included in group activities like fantasy football and got to know the team at a much deeper level.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I believe my standards for employers have become much higher than when I first started. I know now where my value is on the scale and can advocate for myself and can set better goals for the future.
