Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

I had launch engineering position this co-op rotation. Launch is our word for getting a machine up and running and ready to ship out to the customer. I worked on several machines, setting sensors, cameras, and flow controls, and testing the auto and manual functions of the machines with customer parts.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

I learned a lot about automation this rotation through hands on work. Some of the skills I learned include reading pneumatic prints, installing and setting flow controls, setting up cameras, tapping a drilling holes with a hand drill, and performing safety tests and creating safety sheets.

Favorite Part of the Experience

It was great to work on a large machine and get to be a part of making so many components work together and fully automate a process.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

Launch is another perspective on the engineering world and it gave me a clear picture of what kind of engineer I wish to be.
