Description of the Organization

EBW Electronics has over 200 employees and is located in Holland, Michigan. The company produces SMT board assemblies for many LED lighting, automotive and office furniture applications. EBWE is constantly expanding to meet their customers' needs and expectations.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

Projects consisted of product function tester designs and builds, fixture designs, packaging designs, torque studies using torque transducers, project management, and developing engineering drawings using GD&T.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

During this co-op rotation, I was able to expand my knowledge on how to communicate design intent through engineering drawings, manage design projects, and collaborate on engineering tasks.

Favorite Part of the Experience

Being able to take a design project from start to finish is a rewarding accomplishment. I was able to take a concept and make it a reality by working alongside engineering, manufacturing and quality teams.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

This co-op rotation allowed me to dive deeper into the world of mechatronics and develop an appreciation for the field. Understanding that electrical and mechanical processes are codependent is a critical part in working in today's field of engineering.
