Description of the Organization
Hutchinson specializes in antivibration systems in cars. During my co op this semester, I worked with the Ford bushings team, on mainly subframe bushings and compressor bushings.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked on failure analysis of durability parts and tested parts to meet specifications. I also visited companies that Hutchinson works with in outsourcing some tasks, like plastic over-molded brackets.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned a lot about report writing and formatting, using Excel, and professional communication skills.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Working with engineers and visiting suppliers to observe the processes that we outsource.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I have always been interested in automotive engineering and this job seemed like a great fit. This job has helped me realize that it is what I am passionate about.
