Description of the Organization
OWL Computing is a small IT/Software firm that consists of roughly 10 people including owner and managers. Over the years they expanded to other areas like marketing and photography as well. Other services include web & software development, managed IT, and customer computer repair. They focus on providing cost effective solutions for small businesses in the Grand Rapids Metro area.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
My tasks started with assisting our managed IT clients with basic computer troubleshooting and network installations as well as server management. I was involved in several networking projects. For example, I routed cables in drop ceilings, terminated wire ends with ethernet connections, mounted access points and/or cameras. Later, I was soon thrown into web development projects after I showed work from my senior project and have continued in learning more web development skills.

Favorite Part of the Experience
Working hands on with people and equipment was an enjoyment. It was very satisfying solving computer issues no matter the scale or size of the issue. My favorite part however was working with the OWL team. Very supportive and fun.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This job was more than an internship. It was a full time job. I found working with small businesses to meet their technical needs was very rewarding and I have found joy doing such.
