Description of the Organization
Grand Valley State Game Operations makes all the sporting events around campus possible. Countless amounts of hours are put in to make sure the games and events are run smoothly and efficiently.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Tasks include but are not limited to set up and tear down of all field equipment used during the game, set up of scoreboards and music. Hosted visiting team and officials, aided with direction as far as where these visiting teams and officials are supposed to go.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Skills I have learned include brushing up on communication skills, communication is key for the success of a game or event. I have also learned technical skills with the equipment used for scoring and entertainment.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this experience is being around sports. This experience gave me the opportunity to pursue a future goal by learning through sports.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has given me the freedom to find out exactly what I want to do with my future career. It had started with a broad list of tasks which can be narrowed down to what you feel comfortable doing and what you actually want to do.
