Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
Over the course of this semester's Co-Op I was able to work on CAD projects, create my own innovation project, perform rapid prototyping via our 3D printers and did validation testing in the lab.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Practical engineering knowledge and skills were built upon from the first Co-Op rotation, including CAD skills, general knowledge of materials and material selection, how to manage meetings and communicate them with the department/others.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I enjoyed the increased level of responsibilities I have gained from the first rotation. This is pushed on the interns and I think it really is helping me move towards becoming more professional, and learning all the skills needed to become a full time engineer in the coming future.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This rotation has reinforced my plans, albeit still variable, about my future career path and goals. Getting to understand important career topics from former interns who are now full time engineers about school and work has been very valuable.
