Description of the Organization
Innotec is a relatively small company based in Zeeland, MI. There are divisions of the company that manufacture different things. Innotec is best known for being an LED lighting Manufacturer.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked on a variety of different projects. My main role was to keep track of the scrap parts made during production and learn what caused the parts to be bad and work toward a solution. I was also exposed to supply chain management. I performed audits, took inventory, and learned to use an inventory tracking software. Another responsibility I had was to update and debug one of our machines to improve efficiency. I also helped with 5S and assembled a wiring harness for testing purposes.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I learned how to use a new software for supply chain management, how to troubleshoot machine issues on the production line, how to work an X-ray machine, and I became more comfortable using machinery in the work area and which tools were best to use for what application.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I enjoyed the experience for many reasons. The people I work with are great people who are genuinely interested in you and your growth. I love that I can look back to my first day and see a lot of improvement from then to now in all areas of my professional career.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has given me the confidence that I am more capable than I think sometimes and that I will excel at whatever the future has in store for me.
