Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
My job was to prepare quotes for customers. This consisted of creating conceptual automated solutions for complex manufacturing problems, documenting and developing costing/internal budgets for each solution, and then presenting them in a professional and logical manner. I was able to send over 20 quotes to potential customers over the course of the semester, and ended up winning contracts to produce 2 of them, which resulted in over 1 million dollars of business that was awarded to JR.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained insight into how the automotive, medical, and food industries interact with automation, and how valuable automation can be for our customers. I learned how to interact with vendors of items we integrate, and how to send quote requests for specific machinery to those vendors. Also, I developed my professional presentation skills further by learning how to run meetings and present concepts to customers.
Favorite Part of the Experience
Going into work every day to see and interact with people who genuinely care about you, having a team of extremely experienced engineers backing and supporting me in every step of the process.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
