Description of the Organization
JR Automation Technologies, LLC has become a leading capital equipment designer, integrator, and manufacturer throughout the world. They are continuing to grow with now around 1,100+ employees, several business units, and aspirations to grow its community even more in the near future.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
In my final rotation, I was assigned to the design group. I was tasked with helping in the design of stations that were to be part of larger of assemblies in which I worked a lot with CAD software. I was also tasked with doing design checks of part prints, detailing components, releasing prints for build, and completing redlines.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I was able to enhance my design knowledge after being involved a lot with modeling in CAD software. I also was able to observe how other engineers designed things, which gave me insight on better ways to design.
Favorite Part of the Experience
I really enjoyed being able to do more modeling work. I was able to become more familiar with the software that is used at JR Automation and I also enjoyed working along extremely knowledgeable engineers who were always challenging me with new work and making sure that if I had questions or was unsure about something, they provided answers and explained them clearly.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
I have spent three semesters at JR Automation now and this experience has affirmed to me that I really enjoy this industry and that JR Automation is a really great company and that I have been lucky to spend my co-op with them.
