Description of the Organization
RAM electronics is a small contract engineering and manufacturing company. RAM builds PCBs for various applications for different customers. RAM also engineers products that are brought in by customers with a general idea of their product.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
During this semester I was able to work on multiple projects. I was assigned the task of designing and fabrication an end of line for our production line. This project involved a circuit layout, Linux and C coding, and mounting and fabrication of the enclosure. I was also able to design and work on multiple different products for out customers.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
During this experience I gained more knowledge on manufacturing equipment, like selective soldering machines and surface mount lines. I was able to see the different issue they could have and the ways to trouble shoot them.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this experience was being able to walk down the production line and see all of the products I had designed and my fixtures and testers being used to better the company.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience gave me some great knowledge of time management and the amount of time that is required for different projects. It also gave me the experience I needed to make my career hunt much easier.
